Wings Remain at #2 in ESPN Power Rankings

While the heroes of Hockeytown got lots of love on nearly every ESPN mid-day program (Around The Horn, Pardon the Interruption and SportsCenter to name a few) the consensus agreement is that the New York Rangers are still the NHL’s team to beat. The Rangers held onto the top spot in ESPN’s NHL Power Rankings for the fourth straight week running their record to 36-13-5. The Red Wings also held steady after recording their league record tying 20th consecutive home victory last night against the #8 Philadelphia Flyers.

Central Division contenders St. Louis (#4) and Nashville (#6) remained among the League’s top ten, while the Blackhawks – who are winless in their last 8 contests – dropped down to #13.  The Blue Jackets again have been named the last place team despite beating #29 (and once contending) Minnesota Wild two times last week.
